  1. Informal Fallacies (The Top 3 Informal Fallacies Homo Sapiens Commit) Introduction to Logic Mr. Jeffrey V. Estores • 2010-2011, 1stsem, 2nd term

  2. outline Ad Hominem Post Hoc, ergo Propter Hoc Ad Misericordiam

  3. ¤ Disputing an argument by criticizing its source. Hey Maria! I think you should not scold your student in front of the whole class. Ad Hominem Hey to you too! Who are you, a mere construction worker, to lecture me, a Ph. D. in Psychology?

  4. ¤ Just because two things happened around the same time doesn’t mean one caused the other. Post Hoc, ergo Propter Hoc Ex.: Consider this incident between Patricio, a.k.a. Patrick and Ambrocio, a.k.a Amber. Tsek..tsek.. Patrick, that’s not good… not good at all. A black cat just jumped over you! 2 years ago, a black cat jumped over me. Then, bad things started to happen. I started to lose heavily in my gambling… then when I was broke, my two mistresses left me… then, the bank got my house and all my properties. You see Patrick it all started when that black cat jumped over me. It will happen to you too. Why is that Amber? So? O M G! What shall I do?

  5. Dear Mr. Estores, I am invoking your compassionate heart to show some Christian charity by letting me pass in your Logic class. Sir, I understand your point in failing me and I acknowledge that I deserve it. Nonetheless, I am deeply afraid that when my mother finds this, she may not allow me to go to school anymore thus jeopardizing my bright future. You see sir, it has always been my dream to be a manager in a 5 star hotel. I hope and pray that you will not let my dream fade away. Sincerely Regretful and Hopeful, Gretchen ¤ When an appeal to evidence is replaced by an appeal to pity, mercy, or sympathy. Ad Misericordiam

  6. “Critical Thinking is as necessary as breathing. It is the element that makes us who we are – being humans. Without it we are nothing but MINDLESS BRUTES.”

  7. THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS
