  1. HISTORY OF #WREN: In December 2012, Waterloo Region Environmental Network (#WREN) supported the first event of its kind in the region to bring together over 70 individuals from 60+ organizations to participate in facilitated networking, define a collective vision, and determine opportunities for collaboration within the local sustainability cluster. Successful outcomes have ignited a movement for a cohesive environmental network: since the first event, #WREN has met on several occasions with the motivation to collaborate and start conversations about local challenges, which have led to the launch of several community projects. A founding spark for creating a cohesive environmental network, WREN is currently being curated and evolved by Green Rocket (http://www.greenrocket.ca), in collaboration with its members to support ongoing growth and action by the network. Where sustainable community networks grow, and collaborative action thrives.
