Our mission is to provide quality education, teaching, training for the community by equipping youth and adults with the proper mindset, skills and character development which will enhance both cognitive knowledge and self-sufficiency skills. To produce productive citizens in Guilford County and surrounding communities. We are comprised of several subsidiary programs tailored to enrich and empower youth, teens and adults in various areas.

  4. Organization Goal Our goal is to empower and enrich the lives of the disadvantaged and at-risk individuals in the communities we serve. Regardless of race, creed, ethnicity, religious beliefs, etc. Rebuilding & Restoring Communities & Families Neh. 2:17-18

  5. Words from our President/CEO “I have come to the knowledge that we must get to the root of the problem and not just continue to attack the surface. Providing a temporary fix. We must teach our youth and young adults how to become self-sufficient, productive citizens for the advancement of our society”. In other words, ‘ We need to teach individuals how to fish, instead of just feeding them for a day ’. Pastor H. Sheldon McCray, Sr.

  6. History & Accomplishments Formed Oct. 2008 • $200,000 federal grant from Dept. of Public Instruction allowed us to provide FREE summer camp for over 250 youth over the past four years. • Scholarship funding from Time Warner Cable Connect-A-Million Minds. • Developed partnership with Jones Elementary – opened 2nd summer camp site. • Food pantry donation from Wal-Mart • Year to date, we have fed over 2,755 through our weekly community feedings. 11. After School Academic Enrichment • Our Academic Enrichment camp focuses on supplementing what our youth learn on a daily basis in the school system. We provide enrichment in math, reading comprehension and spelling via computer-aided software which assess and keeps track of their progress. Homework help and tutors are also available. Our goal is to enhance students’ overall Grade Point Average and End of Grade scores. Also, to instill good study habits that will increase students’ aptitude and improve their scholastic abilities.

  12. Robotic Exploration Summer Camp S.T.E.M. • Our Robotic Exploration camp expose youth to the technology, robotics and engineering fields. Students learn about computer and electronic components, polarity, circuit board, gears, etc. Youth assemble a robot from scratch. This enriching activity creates awareness in the technology field while promoting engineering and technical ability. Scientific process, observation and evaluation are also covered during the camp through our S.T.E.M.-based activities. We have an extreme emphasis on math where we provide tutoring for those who are having difficulty at their current grade level. We offer challenging math activities for our more advanced students to increase their current skill set.

  14. Damascus House • The purpose of Damascus House is to temporarily house men who are homeless, in transition or at a disadvantage due to personal mistakes made and/or situations beyond their control. It is the mission and goal of Damascus “to empower and inform men back to the ability that they were born with: as the image of God; to develop back to a man of standard, and reshape their minds and character back to great men of valor. • Ultimately, it is our goal to welcome home the Renaissance man. Men will learn a trade, perfect a trade and promote themselves to work and establish themselves as productive men in the community. It is our hope and goal that this program will change the mindset, the heart and soul of the WHOLE man.
