  1. AIP E-Science

  2. AIP: E-Science • E-Science: • AstroGrid-D • GAVO • Support for Collaborative working environments / tools • Supercomputing • Networkstructure & development

  3. AIP: E-Science • E-Science • LOFAR remote station at AIP • Network structure development in Potsdam/Berlin • Network structure development on AIP-Campus: Backbone/WLAN • Collaboration with AEI on Cluster-Integration • Support for Collaborative working environments / tools: • SVN / CVS • VNC • VO-based tools • Support for VO compliant archiving

  4. AIP GAVO • AIP-GAVO: • RAVE webservice: new data-release with enhanced Votable interface • RAVE-processing: data reduction pipeline on AstroGrid-D as grid job • GAIA webservice with VOTable-Interface • PMAS archive buliding and Euro3D as a VOTool • Stellar Physics (Doppler-Imaging) • Solar Physics (Spectrum Inversion) • Hosting of (eg) CDS-Mirror on Grid-Storage facility

  5. AIP AstroGrid-D • AIP- AstroGrid-D • Cluster-Integration • Grid-Simulation with MPI & remote Visualisation • Grid-Integration of Robotic Telescopes • GlowGrid

  6. AIP-Workstation Grid • Workstation Grid development: • new workstations will have a default Globus Installation • older workstations can be included on demand • support of installation and maintenance by E-Science Group • certificate based access to AIP-Clusters • Securing the priority of the user: • grid-jobs run with low priority • grid-jobs can be suspended on demand by user/owner of ws • (-button) • cron-job in late hours to unsuspend grid-jobs at late hours, if no demanding user-process is running

  7. AIP VO • AIP-VO: • Requirement for using a grid of workstations for small computational jobs • Taskfarming as 1st stage, later MPI with Globus • Based on D-Grid-RootCA certificates • All AIP users with X.509 certificates can use other AstroGrid-D resources as well, and later on D-Grid-Resources • All D-Grid-Certificates are useable worldwide in Grid-environments • AIP-VO is sub organisation of AstroGrid-D VO • AstroGrid-VO is sub organisation of D-Grid VO (not there yet) • Other middleware (eg UNICORE) will follow • Certificates an be used for building other VOs within D-Grid • (eg. Project based VO for GlowGrid)
