So what is really the cloud? • It comes in many shapes and sizes… • Just like the clouds in the sky! • Common terms: • Software as a Service (SaaS) cloud application services, such as word processing or a spreadsheet. • Platform as a Service (PaaS) allows the user to run applications without the cost and complexity of buying and managing the underlying hardware and software layers.
