Project Goals • Expand the Learning Lab • Provide software for the Lab • Train teachers to use the software • Work with student teachers in their knowledge and use of assistive technology • Identify students who would benefit from assistive technology • Work with identified students in the learning lab
Learning Lab • Computers available • All networked • Full-time assistant in the lab
Wynn (study skill tool,scans tests,books, reads aloud,highlights) Co-writer ( a word prediction writing program) Start to Finish Book Series (books read by the computer with comprehension assessments) Inspiration (diagramming and web creation to help organize ideas and information) Plato (graduation exit exam review Clicker (a visual -talking word processing program) Software Available
Teacher Training • Met in the lab and demonstrated new software available • Identified students who would benefit from the software • Brainstormed ideas for using assistive technology with their classes
Student Teacher Training • Met with Dr. Nelson to discuss program • Met with students to demonstrate software in lab • Students met with teachers and other students
Worked with students in the learning lab Helped to use Assistive Technology to better access their curriculum Completed visual learning tools for their classes Student Training
