  3. Morning Arrival * School Hours 8:40 am – 3:10 pm * Our campus opens at 8:15 a.m. for student arrival. Students should not be here before this time as there is no teacher supervision. * District Policy: Closed Campus * They can lay their backpack down in their designated line on the basketball courts. * When the bell rings/whistle blows, they should line up in their line.

Reading *Journeys Reading Program • Fiction & Nonfiction • Emphasis on Informational Texts • Phonics / Phonological Awareness • Sight Words (Reading & Spelling-see HW folder) • Spelling Words (14 words & 2 challenge words) *2nd Grade Goals: • Improve reading level, fluency, and accuracy • Learn a variety of strategies to comprehend different types of texts • Read independently 20 minutes per day • Identify story elements • Identify differences/similarities in characters, settings, and texts. *DIBELS

Math *Math Standards • Numbers and Operations in Base-10 • Operations and Algebraic Thinking • Measurement and Data • Geometry • Mathematical Practices *2nd Grade Goals: -Identify, compare, read, write, add and subtract numbers 0-1,000 -Memorize basic addition/subtraction facts -Identify 2-D shapes and attributes -Understand benchmark fractions -Tell Time (5 minute increments) -Measure length in different units -Create bar graphs and picture graphs -Solve one and two-step word problems

  11. Volunteers * Art Masterpiece, JA, PTO Partner & Room Parent * Teacher Volunteer Copy and prepare materials (Mon. - Fri.) * Classroom Volunteers as needed (Mon. - Thurs.)

Please let me know (include napkins) Store Bought Items Only.

Electronic Devices • BYOT form must be signed. • Pictures – if you take pictures of students at school or any school related event, please do not post these to a public website. • Cell Phones must be in backpacks and on silent while on campus. If your child needs to use it when they are leaving, they are to ask an adult for permission. • Game Day FLC- last Friday of each month
