Keys to Success • If you are absent, your work is due the day you come back (see Student Handbook) • Extended absences = Independent Study or contact us • TARDY on stamp day • Make up is at break OR lunch that day • Complete ALL the assignment • Color when you need color • Answer all questions

  3. How to Work with Your NB • Right Side = Teacher Input • Teacher or book generated information • Class & Discussion notes • Reading notes • Handouts • Textbook questions • Anything given to you by the teacher • Left Side = Student Input • Students organize and process information in a creative format: • Warm Ups • See It, Say It • Student Processing • Examples • Express Opinions or Feelings • Political Cartoons • Timelines • Venn Diagrams

  4. How to do a Title Page • Using both the A and B side you must include these items: • Place the Title of the Unit at the top • Include Chapter and Section Title Names • One color picture related to each chapter

  5. How to do “See It, Say It” Vocabulary – you will be assigned vocabulary words for each chapter • You DO NOT need to define • You will need to do 2 things for each word: • Research and write 3 words that describe the word • Each word will need a picture that describes the word • The picture MUST be in color

  6. How to do Current Events • Cut out newspaper article or Copy of Article (website) • Title of article • Why is this article significant to our study of Government (1st semester) & Economics (2nd semester)? • Relate this article to a past historical event. • How do you think coverage of this event will change over time? • What will prove to be the most important aspect of the story? • How will the information in this article affect us in the future?

  7. Extra Credit • Each Unit you have Extra Credit • Once the Unit is over you cannot turn in
