Recent data • Ypsilanti Health Coalition, working with Public Health, maps City of Ypsilanti food environment (see map) • Kellogg Foundation RFP for planning and implementation projects • Application by Washtenaw County Community Development and collaborators • Funded for planning / market analysis • Currently contracting with MAP Info for detailed market analysis and recommendations

YHFAI Steering Committee • Representatives from: • Public Health, Planning and Environment, MSU Extension, Growing Hope, UM Program for Multicultural Health, Food Gatherers, Ypsilanti City Planning, Ypsilanti Health Coalition, Hope clinic, Habitat for Humanity, Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC)

  4. Focus Groups under way! • Encouraging Ypsilanti resident participation in one of 5 focus groups about food and grocery shopping in the City of Ypsilanti • Recruitment flyer for focus group

Next Steps • Focus group report + Map Info report will guide decisions about potential future changes (Business Plan development ??) • Stakeholder Open House – November 9 • Results of focus groups + Map Info study from 5:30 – 7:30 at Ypsilanti Senior Center – OPEN TO COMMUNITY (FSEP participation)
