  2. Vision Statement • ASQ 1301 will be viewed by the community as a partner in helping to achieve performance excellence in local businesses. We will be seen as a best practice at the national ASQ level.

  3. Mission • The mission of the ASQ 1301 Community Outreach program is to establish and manage a network of service providers and stakeholder agencies to improve performance excellence. We will leverage these efforts to improve awareness of ASQ in the local community.

  4. Objectives • Provide services to stakeholders • Provide focused opportunities for service for ASQ 1301 members • Promote ASQ in local community

  5. Today’s Situation • ASQ 1301 is not well known in local community • ASQ 1301 members have skills, but opportunities to serve are unclear • Potential client/stakeholders exist, but no formal mechanisms in place to assess needs or provide service

  6. Objective 1:Provide Services to Stakeholders Tasks: • Identify industry & academic partners • Identify potential clients • Non-profits • School districts • Local governments • Conduct pilot engagement • Replicate model & institutionalize

  8. Objective 2:Provide focused opportunities for service for ASQ 1301 members Tasks: • Assess skills & level of interest existing within ASQ 1301 • Assess CEU potential with local educational institutions • UMKC • Rockhurst • Metropolitan Community Colleges • Promote on website, newsletter, etc.

  9. Objective 3:Promote ASQ in local community Tasks: • Develop public awareness strategy • Contact local public television and radio for pledge drive opportunities • Develop relationships with volunteer organizations and publicize needs/opportunities within 1301

  10. Benefits • Support the mission of ASQ, which “creates better workplaces and communities worldwide by advancing learning, quality improvement, and knowledge exchange” • Strengthen networks between ASQ 1301 and local industry and academia • Provide development opportunities for ASQ 1301 members
