This study examines the tracks and muon collection in the decay of Z' particles into muons, analyzing their acceptance, matching, and statistical properties. Various criteria, such as chi-squared, DCurvature, and DeltaR, are used to evaluate the quality of the matches. The results show the number of accepted matches and the percentage of accepted muons that meet specific criteria. Additionally, the situation at generator-level is discussed, including the number of generated muons and their properties. Overall, this analysis provides insights into the behavior and characteristics of tracks in the Z'→µ+µ- decay process.

Where have all the muons gone? • 165 generated muons within acceptance (pt>20, |eta|<2.3). • Low statistics because we are tracking what happens to every muon. • 170 STA muons within (pt>3, |eta|<2.4). • Loose pt cut because muon system pt resolution is poor • 3 fail the pt>3 cut and are killed before being matched. • One has pt = 2.1, eta = 3.5 • One has pt pt = 1.2, eta = 2.7 • One has pt pt = 0, eta = 0 • 1 more fails after going through the KFFitter. • 166 GBL muons within (pt>3, |eta|<2.4) • 166 are available to the analyzers. • 164 have pt>10 • Matching to the generated muons within acceptance • 164 tracker tracks matched • 157 GLB muons matched • 143 have chi-squared < 5 • 126 of those have Dr < 0.0015 Jeff Klukas - U. The Situation at Generator-Level • Some Z’ particles generated with mass below 100 GeV • 172 generated muons in fiducial volume • 5 have pt < 100 GeV • 7 have 2.3<|eta|<2.4 Jeff Klukas - U. Wisconsin
