Cultural backgroud Location Taste Availablity of food Health (Medical conditions & allergies) Income vs price of food Environmental factors (weather) Convenience (cooking vs fast food) Food advertising & peer influence Time & lifestyle Age & gender Socio-economic status
Choose three factors from the list to explain in detail eg. Avaliability of food This would effect the way people can access food. In some regions, there maybe a rich source of a particular food, such as meat in Australia and rice in Asian countries. This would also effect the way people eat, if there wasn’t a lot of food avaliable ...

INVESTIGATION TASK #1 What reasons could there be for a food shortage and why? (political, social, enviormental) Which countries or regions have had a history of food shortage? (you may like to use a map to demonstrate this) Choose a specific region to focus on. What hardships do the people in this region suffer? (what is the main reason for their food shortage) What is being done either in this specific region or across the globe in order to break this cycle of food shortage or food poverty? (use the suggested websites below)

Use the above question ‘Who’s problem is world hunger?’ to help you find out what other’s think of this global issue.
