The ATLAS/TILECAL Detector Control System EBC LBC LBA EBC Helena Santos (LIP − Lisbon) on behalf of the Tile Calorimeter Group pictorial view of the ATLAS calorimeters Tile barrel Tile extended barrel TILECALis the hadronic calorimeter of ATLAS. The detector is located 100 m underground and can not be accessed during LHC running due to ionizing radiation. Thus, it must allow full remote diagnosis and operation. This is assured by the DCS– the system responsible for coherent and safe operation of the detector.

  2. SYSTEMS Finite State Machine (FSM)‏ FSM is extensively used in ATLAS DCS. It allows, among other, to enable/disable malfunctioning hardware, automatic detector operations, single subsystem operations and control integration in the ATLAS DCS.
