  3. Session Objectives At the conclusion of the webinar, participants will understand: • The purpose of completing the Monthly Team Check Up Tool (MTCT) • How to enter the MTCT into Care Counts • The reports that are available to them in Care Counts • How to access help using the system

  4. Purpose of MTCT Purpose • Helps to monitor internal progress of CUSP steps and CLABSI reduction steps • Identifies activities of teams and elements of team context that influence performance • Helps identify barriers in teamwork and communication to guide corrective action

  5. Key Points: MTCT Completion • MTCT is located in MHA Care Counts at www.mhacarecounts.org • One MTCT should be completed per unit team per month • Use a separate MTCT for each unit participating in the hospital • Answers to MTCT questions are based on previous month’s experience

  11. Running Reports inMHA Care Counts • There are a number of Reports available for the Monthly Team Check Up Tool to view • the data in a variety of ways • Reports can be run for specific dates, units, and with national and sponsor (state)comparisons

  13. Select Timeframe and Rollup Options • Depending on the specific report, you will be able to view one month or several months • of data at a time • Many reports also have the option to Rollup the data in a variety of different ways

  14. Reports can be Exported Reports can be exported from the MHA Care Counts - Report Viewer into Excel, PowerPoint or Word

  15. Specific Reports • Common Barriers Report • Team Activities Report • Team Activities Report – One Month • Data – Multiple Units • Selective Team Activities Report

Common Barriers Report Description: Reports the percentage of time each category was seen as a barrier to team progress • Use this report to: • View barriers for a specific time period (e.g. last quarter of 2009) • View barriers by individual unit or select specific units and roll up data Note: Common Barriers are included in these reports when teams answer “1/2 the time”, “Over ½ the time” and “Almost Always/Always” as to whether those issues were a barrier that month

Team Activities Report Description: Reports monthly team check-up data, can be rolled up for multiple months at a time and can be rolled-up for multiple units at a time • Use this report to: • View several months of completed Monthly Team Check Up Tools by individual units at one time to see progressions in activities, how often meetings are being held, and if data is being shared etc. • View rollup information for multiple units over several months to see a summary of activities taking place. Rollup data can be useful for situations where there are multiple units participating, but should be used with caution as there can be tremendous variation between unit activities even with the same executive sponsor.

  20. Team Activities – One Month Data - Multiple Units Description: Reports data for multiple units for a one month timeframe • Use this report to: • View multiple units in a hospital or system on a monthly basis instead of viewing each individual report in Care Counts

  22. Selective Team Activities Report Description: Reports five team activities at National and Sponsor Level • Use this report to: • Compare activities of your Sponsor (State collaborative) to the National data (all units participating in the project that completed MTCT)
