  1. George Eastman Troy Marten

  2. Who was he? George Eastman is probably most notable as the creator of Kodak, where his ashes were actually buried at the headquarters. He also invented roll film, which helped to bring photography to the mainstream. His roll film was also used by other famous photographers, such as Eadweard Muybridge and Louis le prince.

  3. Where did he come from? George Eastman was born on July 12, 1854to George Eastman and Maria Eastman. He was born in New york city, Rochester. He was the youngest of 3 kids, his sisters Maria and Katie Eastman, on a 10 acre farm his parents brought in 1849.

  4. Background He was a major philanthropist, establishing the Eastman School of Music, and schools of dentistry and medicine at the University of Rochester. In addition, he provided funds for clinics in London and other European cities to serve low-income residents. George Eastman never married, although he carried on a long platonic relationship with Josephine Dickman, a trained singer and the wife of business associate George Dickman, and he became especially close to her after the death of his mother, Maria Eastman, in 1907. He was also an avid traveler and music love.

  5. Eastman Kodak In 1889, George Eastman created the Kodak camera, and founded Eastman Kodak. When creating the name, George Eastman used 3 important principles; it should be short, not be mispronounced and something that can only relate to his work.

  6. Conclusion In my opinion, George Eastman is a very important figure in Photography history. He was one the reasons we had cameras in the first place, and is the reason Photography is part of the mainstream. All in all, George Eastman is very important who should be viewed as a great man.
