  2. Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

  4. We are not a body with a soul, but instead we are a soul with a body.

  7. The Curse of the Restless Soul Genesis 4:11-12 “Now you are under a curse and driven from the ground, which opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand. When you work the ground, it will no longer yield its crops for you. You will be a restless wanderer on the earth.” Always searching but never finding Interested in everything but satisfied by nothing

  8. The Curse of the Restless Soul Question Are you often wound up on the inside and you find it difficult to calm down in your soul? Ecclesiastes 2:22-23 “What do people get for all the toil and anxious striving with which they labour under the sun? All their days their work is grief and pain; even at night their minds do not rest. This too is meaningless.” Where do we find rest for our souls?

The Curse of the Restless Soul “Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him.” Psalm 62:1 Our souls find rest in God alone Matthew 11:28-29 “‘Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened ‘Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.’” "You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it rests in you." Augustine - The Confessions (A.D. 397)

Number One Be still before God • That means • Stop • Pause • Wait • And know Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God...” Psalm 131:2“Surely I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with his mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me.” (NKJV) 5 Minutes

Number Two Wait for the Lord • How do I hear from God? • Wait on God • Seek Him • Slow it down • And be still Psalm 37:7 “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him...” Psalm 130:5-6“I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I hope; my soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen for the morning, more than watchmen for the morning.”

Number Three Reflect on God's goodness Psalm 116:7-9 “Return to your rest, my soul, for the Lord has been good to you. For you, Lord, have delivered me from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before the Lord in the land of the living.” God is already in tomorrow A fruitful soul bears the fruits of the Spirit. If our spiritual enemy can't make us bad... he's going to make us busy
