Newspaper Hunt • In your groups, read through your newspaper • Identify and record any world issues, where they are located, and what (if any) organizations are involved. • Students with Smartphones/Tablets/iPod Touch’s: look on the internet to find other examples of world issues (check out Huffington Post, BBC) • Each group should find at least 4 issues • When finished, send a group member to bring your information to the teacher

Definitions • NGO: Any international organization that is not under the authority of any government and members work together to address various global issues. • IGO: An organization initiated and directed by national governments. Countries within these organizations cooperate to address various global issues
