  2. Simply… • Make them interactive. • Use them regularly and frequently. • Make them coincide with word lists in student notebooks.

QHT • Question Put words there that students do not know; they have a question about the word. • Heard Put words here that students have heard but they’re not sure what they mean. • Teach Put words here that students know well enough to teach. As you use the words over time, students should be able to move the words to the Teach column.
