Vietnam • 2 million people were killed. • 7 million tones of bombs were dropped on North Vietnam. • Large areas of forest were destroyed. • Vietnam was reduced from a major rice exporter to an unsustainable country. • 2 million people fled from Vietnam to escape famine and a Communist government. • Many mines and booby traps were left after the war. • People continued to suffer from effects of chemicals and defoliants.
