KOWLOON BY NIGHT “ONE NIGHT IN MONGKOK” CITY TOUR
In many cities around the world, after 6pm, life seems to die down and it feels like everybody is just heading home. In Hong Kong, after 6pm is when the city lights up; not just the lights but life in Hong Kong and in my opinion, after 6pm is actually when you should see the city. Many have come across to me and asked,“So what is a night tour? Is it just the night markets? Is it about drinking and partying? Or is it something that’s just for men? Where are the knock offs?" My idea of a night tour is not just the touristy stuff; I want to show you why there are so many people out on the streets every night, the local lifestyles, and where do the locals hang out? What is that guy doing sitting on the street corner? All your questions answered by your born and raised Kowloon boy.
I have been hanging out in Mongkok since I was 13; I have seen the change and I surely know where to turn which corner. Mongkok itself is such an ever changing part of Hong Kong that it’s the centre of trend setters. No matter if it’s the coolest new snack, the newest technology, the hippest “yo” of the town or the choicest fashion; it's all here.
I will be showing you not just the night markets but the secret local spots where no other tourists would find; I will show you not just the lit up streets but why where is what; how the retail scene can be so intelligently strategic; and most importantly, how I saw the change in past couple of decades. We will be going into markets but really to show you the secrets of market operations; why this guy is at such places etc...(90% of my guests are not really into shopping… but I do give recommendations on directions).
Besides the bright and lively Mongkok, I would want to show you some of the best places where you can take great pictures of Hong Kong at night and commemorate these beautiful backdrops where nowhere else can match. This is a walking tour as points of interests are very close to each other. So do prepare as there are some walking and with plenty of breaks (at restaurants or transporting in between), I want to make your night more like a stroll than a work out.
