  1. POWER OF CITIZEN SCIENCE TO CONTRIBUTE TO SCIENCE & SOCIETY • CITIZEN SCIENTISTS • Members of the public who voluntarily help scientific studies by collecting research data. • CITIZEN SCIENCE PROJECTS • Nature Conservation • Health Sector • Food & Agriculture Sector • Water Sector • Climate Adaptation • EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING JOURNEY • Facilitated outdoor learning seasons • Impact participants ‘Hearts and Minds’ • Inspiring passion & commitment • Turning ideas into plans for action

  2. Forests and Climate Change Project in Western Ghats This project was quoted in Nature as one of the biggest Citizen - Science projects ever conducted • I had the pleasure of leading the Scientific Research project on ‘Sustainable Forest Management in a Changing Climate’ at Sirsi in Western Ghats. The highlight of this project was the citizen science element. This project was quoted in Nature – International Weekly Journal of Research, as one of the biggest citizen-science projects ever conducted. Citizen Scientists made an important input to my scientific research programme. This was a valuable contribution to my research work in Western Ghats, Forestry, Climate Action and Ecosystem Services..Professor NH Ravindranath Centre for Sustainable Technologies, Indian Institute of Science IISc, Bengaluru

  3. Citizen Science in action Collect and weigh soil, leaf litter and dry wood Numbering trees and put tag, Measuring girth, Recording data,

  4. Sustainable Agriculture Research Project in Indian Himalayan Region Forest Ecosystem Services | Pollination and Agro-ecosystems |Biodiversity and Bee Flora The collaborative scientific research of G.B. Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment & Sustainable Development and Earthwatch Institute India has made an important contribution to our institute’s work to advance scientific knowledge and demonstrate their efficacy for conservation of natural resources, and to ensure environmentally sound development in the Indian Himalayan Region….’Dr. S.S.
