TURF When Hydroseeding Turf grasses there are many options in regards to seed variety that include Perennial Rye, Tall fescues, Fine fescues, and Bermuda grasses. By far the majority of Hydroseeding uses Tall Fescue grass seed. To be clear, there are at least 120 different varieties of Tall Fescues most of which should not be used in a residential setting. If you are unsure as to which variety or type of seed you should use on your property your best bet is to call Advanced Landscape and Hydroseeding so that you can discuss the many seed options and find out what is best for your application.
EROSION CONTROL Erosion control refers to a hydroseeding process that may, or may not, include a seed. If we are performing erosion control without seed in the mix we would call that Hydro mulching. Hydro mulching is a process that is exactly the same as Hydroseeding, we just do not add seed to the tank mix. Why would we do this? Perhaps you may not want any new plants growing in an area you plan to re-landscape in the future. but you need erosion control to hold the soil, dust, or the hillside in place until that landscape plan can be implemented.
GROUND COVER We can Hydroseed many different ground covers, please call to find out which varieties are available. Not all plant varieties and ground covers can be Hydroseeding. The reason for this is that some plants do not reliably start well from seeds. We can typically hydroseed native plants, native flowers, perennial ground covers, such as Gazania and Alyssum, and many types of grasses including fine fescues like creeping red fescue, sheep‘s fescue, and hard fescue.
