  3. Who is an Expert Educator?We are looking for self-driven educators who are passionate about their careers, inspiring students with outside-the-box thinking and a true collaborative spirit. Resourcefuland entrepreneurial, they relish the role of change agent, and work to achieve excellence in education using advanced technologies and social media.

  4. How to apply to be a Microsoft Innovative Educator: Expert • At www.pil-network.com you will need to: • Upload a Learning Activity (which includes a two minute video that you have made describing your Learning Activity) • Complete the Microsoft Innovative Educator – Expert Application

  5. Put your best self forward • Look at the rubrics to see what judges are looking for! • Read the FAQs! Tips Provide detailed descriptions of your activities Complete all sections of the application with thoughtful and concise answers Provide supporting resource files You can start applying – and what you have done will be automatically saved if you don’t finish in one sitting.

  6. What’s in it for you? • Apply to be a Microsoft Innovative Educator: Expert AND upload a Learning Activity (including video) by 3 June 2013 and you could be one of 15 Innovative Educators who win a trip to the SchoolNet SA ICT in the Classroom Conference. • Bloemfontein from 2 – 4 July 2013. • Travel, accommodation, meals and conference fee sponsored. • An opportunity to present your Learning Activity at the South African and Lesotho Microsoft Partners in Learning Forum which will be part of the conference. • A fantastic networking experience with other Innovative Educators • A great professional development opportunity.

  7. One • At least one teacher who is selected to present his or her Learning Activity at the ICT in the Classroom Conference in Bloemfontein will be selected to be a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert. • Additional ‘Experts’ will be selected from other South African and Lesotho teachers who apply before 30 September 2013. ‘Experts’ attend the Global Partners in Learning Forum. This will be taking place at a not-yet-selected exciting, international destination in March or April 2014.

Microsoft experts receive: A trip to the Partners in Learning Global Forum Free technology for their schools Insider access to Microsoft Professional and career development opportunities Peer coaching certification Opportunities to share their expertise Microsoft Experts have opportunities to: Share their passion for through social media, blogs and videos Provide input for professional development content for educators Help develop strategies to benefit other educators Represent Microsoft through demonstrations and at events Mentor other educators and help train them on education technologies
