European Safety Data Sheets by ICSDS.COM Simplifies a Complex Task icsds.com
As matters stand many manufacturers and exporters are grappling with upgradation of MSDS to SDS under OSHA HazCom 2012. If they wish to export to Europe then it is more complex due to REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals), which is wider in scope and considerably extended. From December 2010 all suppliers must supply SDS that meets requirements of Annex 1 of Regulation 453/2010. eSDS must be prepared accordingly and in conformity with European Chemical Industry Council (CEFIC) guidelines. It is complex, to say the least and requires professional attention to minor details.
Substances may be classified as dangerous, bioaccumulative, toxic or persistent or even very bioaccumulative and very persistent and this description is to be included in REACH eSDS. If an exporter supplies in excess of 10 tonnes per annum, the eSDS is compulsory. The document must also include exposure scenarios, operating conditions and risk management measures to ensure safe use not only in processing but also for end users of the chemical or a formulation in which it is an ingredient. Other exposure scenarios may also be included which means downstream users can be a bit confused as to which one to refer.
It becomes more complex when one considers the Chemical Safety Reports (CSRs) that must be referred to in the eSDS. It is a manual and monumental task to extract the right information from the CSR. Expertise is required. European Safety Data Sheets by ICSDS.COM services handle this and other issues with practiscd mastery. Their experts not only take into consideration the appendix of REACH guidelines but also examine the CSR for inconsistencies and derive facts on control of risks. Another factor to consider is translation of English eSDS to European languages where one must make use of appropriate phrases of specific languages in the translation of SDS texts and Label texts. While the European phrase catalogue does have an extensive library, it is by no means complete and experts at ICSDS, with their familiary with languages, select the right phrase in the language of choice. The eSDS that exporters send to their customers in Europe can be complete in all respects, including exposure scenarios and labels. Meticulous to the extreme, professionals at ICSDS carry out compliance checks and ensure there are no discrepancies.
Preparing REACH compliant SDS is a monumental task for industrial users and distributors. Preparing it for downstream users and end users is even more complex. ICSDS handles it all with expertise and within scheduled time frames to allow exporters to continue their business unhindered. While full disclosure is required, companies would also like to preserve proprietary information, a task that ICSDS handles with admirable competence. At the same time they handle the matter for full communication throughout the supply chain besides interacting with REACH regional offices through local representations. Services offered include pre-registration and registration support, ongoing inventory management assistance, guidance, consultations and training. ICSDS offers expertise at an affordable price with guaranteed adherence to scheduled timelines for REACH compliances.
