  1. The Problem with “Redefining”… Redefine “To give a new or different definition to a word” Isaiah 5:20-21

  2. Isaiah 5:20-21 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! 21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, And prudent in their own sight! Redefinitions may satisfy consciences, but they do not satisfy the God of heaven!

  3. The Problem With Redefining… • Life (Abortion) • Luke 1:41,44; Psalm 139:13-16

  4. Luke 1:41,44 (41), And it happened, when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, that the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. (44), “For indeed, as soon as the voice of your greeting sounded in my ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.”

  5. Psalm 139:13-16 For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother's womb. 14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. 15 My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them.

  6. The Problem With Redefining… • Life (Abortion) • Luke 1:41,44; Psalm 139:13-16 • Murder (Assisted Suicide, Infanticide) • Acts 17:25

  7. Acts 17:25 Nor is He worshiped with men's hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things. How presumptuous it is of man to believe that life and death are within his right to take as he sees fit while ignoring the will of the Giver of life!

  8. The Problem With Redefining… • Life (Abortion) • Luke 1:41,44; Psalm 139:13-16 • Murder (Assisted Suicide, Infanticide) • Acts 17:25 • Marriage (Same Sex – Homosexuality) • Genesis 2:21-24; Romans 1:26-27

  9. Genesis 2:21-24 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. 22 Then the rib which the LORD God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man. 23 And Adam said: "This is now bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man." 24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

  10. Romans 1:26-27 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

  11. The Problem With Redefining… • Life (Abortion) • Luke 1:41,44; Psalm 139:13-16 • Murder (Assisted Suicide, Infanticide) • Acts 17:25 • Marriage (Same Sex – Homosexuality) • Genesis 2:21-24; Romans 1:26-27 • Adultery (MDR Error) • Matthew 19:9; John 8:3-4

  12. Matthew 19:9 And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery; and whoever marries her who is divorced commits adultery.

  13. John 8:3-4 Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst, 4 they said to Him, "Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act.

  14. Conclusion Many other examples could be given: Baptism, faith, fellowship, doctrine, gospel, unity, etc… Only God’s Definitions Count!
