  2. Location: San Jose State Event Center • Address: The Event Center San Jose State University 290 South 7th StreetSan José, CA 95192 • You are responsible for your own ride • We cannot arrange carpools this year View from 7th Street

  3. General Information • The general public can attend the competition free of charge • Parents, teachers, and friends are all invited • Parking is $10 in the garage

  4. Rules and Guidelines • You must attend on the days you have been excused for! • Sign-in and Sign-out with Mr. Shinta at the start and end of each day • Attendance will be taken and absences will be reported • Wear your MVRT T-shirts!! • The team will be seated together in the stands forming a sea of purple • Bring money for lunch ($10-15) • Outside food isn’t allowed inside the Event Center • Behave and act responsibly • School rules still apply to you at competition • Do as you’re told; you are responsible for yourself • Aside from that…HAVE FUN!!

  5. Pits • A 10 ft by 10 ft area is allotted to each team to work on their robot • Due to the limited space, only pit crew members should be in the pits.

  6. Pit Everyone Competition Schedule • Thursday: Practice Rounds (Pit Day) • Robot uncrated • Pit Crew and Scout Leaders will attend • Friday: Qualifications • Everyone attends • Matches begin • Scouting and Pits are full throttle • Saturday: Eliminations • Everyone attends • Matches end/Eliminations begin • End of competition

  7. Pit Pit Everyone Friday: Qualification Rounds • 8:00AM Pits and Machine Shop open • 9:00AM Opening ceremonies • 9:30AM-4:30PM Seeding matches • 12:00PM-1:00PM Lunch • 4:30PM Awards Ceremony • 6:00PM Pits and Machine Shop close

  8. Pit Pit Everyone Saturday: Eliminations • 8:00AM Pits and machine shop open • 9:00AM Opening ceremonies • 9:30AM-11:45AM Seeding matches • 11:45AM-12:00PM Alliance Selections • 12:00PM-1:00PM Lunch • 1:00PM-3:00PM Final rounds • 3:00PM Awards ceremony • 5:00PM Pits and Machine Shop close

  9. Jobs at Competition • Pit Crew • Spend majority of the time in the Pits • Keep robot ready to run in each match • Drive Crew • Group of four that compete on the field during each match • Scouting • Spend majority of the time in the stands (some in pits) • Take copious notes (NEATLY)! • Spectating • Sit in the stands and cheer!

  13. Watch matches Cheer for the team! Hold up signs Cheer the team on Follow PR instruction HAVE A GREAT TIME! * We ask that everyone stay for the awards ceremony at the end of the day (even though the school day ends at 3:00) Spectators (Everyone)

  14. Part 1 of the Meeting is Over • Unless already instructed, you may go home • Scouts and Pit Crew, stay tuned for Part 2 of the meeting
