  2. Compare • When you compare things you describe whether two numbers are equal to, less than, or greater than each other. • Example: • 8,567 = 8,567

  3. Equal Numbers • Numbers that are the same are EQUAL. • We use the symbol, =, to show that two numbers are EQUAL. • Ex: 45 = 45

  4. Less Than & Greater Than • To show that numbers are less than or greater than each other we use the symbols: • Less than ‹ greater than › When to use the less than symbol? When the lesser number is written first. When to use the greater than symbol? When the greater number is written first.
