What you will be learning today! • Today you will be learning how to be safe and have fun on the farm! Now, let’s have fun!
Use your IMAGINATION. • Imagine helping Mom or Dad on a bright sunny day, you are so excited to go to work on the farm and help out! After you get home you cannot wait to play outside, and drink a big glass of apple juice. • All these things are great, but some dangers can occur if you are not careful. Let us learn these hazards, and ways to stay safe!

Protect your FACE • Hats protect your face They are the best way to shade your face! FUN FACT: Your ears can get sun burnt too!! Sunhats also protect your ears!
My favorite…. SUNSCREEN!!! • Sun Protection Factor = SPF • 40 SPF is a great amount of protection to use EVERYDAY!
Waterproof Sunscreen is the best to wear while your swimming. Apply every 2 HOURS

ATV Safety • Riding a four-wheeler can be fun, but you need to be sure to protect your whole self! • Let us talk about important parts of your body and how to protect them!
First, let’s warm up with… The Hokey Pokey!! Click the box to begin.
Lets work from the bottom to the top! Boots protect your FEET from sticks and other objects.
Pants protect your LEGS from the heat of the ATV and other flying objects.
Long Sleeves protect your ARMS from tree branches.
Gloves with Grips protect your HANDS from debris and allow you to hold on better.
Helmet and goggles protect your HEAD and EYES if an accident happens your HEAD will be protected. Be sure you use the CHIN STRAP to secure the helmet!!

Tractors • Tractors have ONE seat, which means only ONE person is allowed to be on the tractor at a time! Extra riders distract the driver and put the rider and driver in harm.

Lawn Mowers • Mowers have sharp blades. • Makes sure ALL blades are off when you are getting on or off the machine. • Mowers can cut more than grass… Protect your fingers and toes!
