  12. 14-19 Level 3 Diplomas Commencing 2008 • This document is designed to map the range of broad progression opportunities into higher education potentially available from the first five Level 3 Diplomas which will start to be delivered across Greater Manchester from September 2008. • The opportunities in HE described are those offered by the following universities: University of Bolton, Manchester Metropolitan University, University of Manchester, University of Salford. Those students able to travel beyond Greater Manchester will find other options available.

Not another web site please! • Because there are too many places to look at already • My home/college/business operates in several regions • We need coherent approaches that allow unlimited customisation – like ordnance survey • Other portals or websites can embed and localise the services within their own facilities

A portal built on standardised services • Intention is a service-based portal • The “services” will address issues that most LLNs see as fundamental and draw on national expertise • The approaches taken extend previous work (JISC programmes) and could serve as a model nationally • Other portals or websites can embed the services within their own facilities
