  3. 8th Grade Agenda 10/15 • Learning Target: • I can find facts during a video. • Finish Video: • PINS for “Secrets of the Parthenon” • Begin “Shipping Container Homes” • Discuss Constraints of Shipping Container House

  4. 8th Grade Agenda 10/16 • Learning Target: I can Define the Problem and Generate Concepts for the Shipping Container Project. • Begin “Shipping Container Homes” • TO DO TODAY: • Complete Design Brief • Brainstorm/research layouts for 800 Sq. ft homes • Begin 3 designs (floor plan layouts, rooms, walls)

  6. Deliverables • Design Brief in Eng. Notebook • 3 Designs in Eng. Notebook (with walls, rooms, etc.) • Decision Matrix with 3 designs in Eng. Notebook • From REVIT • Complete Floor Plan Drawing • Furniture and Appliances • Dimensions and Room Labels • Complete 3D Drawings • With roof • Without roof

Shipping Container Homes • Constraints • Shipping containers are 8’ x 20’ x 8’ • You may use 5 or fewer containers • You are creating this house for a 50 yr. old couple, no kids • They want an “eco-friendly” home • Your house may be 800 sq. ft. or less • You must create 3 different designs for the home • You must use a Decision Matrix to decide on the best design
