  1. The Holocaust&World War II 1939 -1945

  2. War Map World War II lasted exactly six years and one day. There were many battles involved. Discrimination against the Jewish faith sparked the start of the war.

  3. The Star Of David Anyone who was of Jewish religion was forced to wear a six-pointed star, identifying them as Jews. This was usually taken as a sign of disgrace.

  4. Death March Jews were forced from their homes and villages. They marched to Moscow and other big cities that had concentration camps. Not all of the prisoners made it to their destinations. Many died along the way.

  5. Auschwitz This was one of the most populated concentration camps of the war. The phrase along the iron gate, “ArbeitMachtFrei”, translates into “work makes you free.” For many, this saying was a lie.

  6. WWII in Europe When France fell in 1940, the fighting moved to the Mediterranean. In the beginning, combat mainly occurred at sea and in North Africa between British and Italian forces. Following Germany’s ally's lack of progress, their troops entered the combat in early 1941.

  7. WWII: Japan and the Atomic Bomb Bombing had played a big part in the war against Germany. American military leaders used the same tactics while pitted against Japan. Air raids from May 1945 destroyed large sections of urban Japan. Then, in August 1945, atomic bombs were dropped in the skies over the towns of Hiroshmo and Nagasaki. Not long after, Japan surrendered.

  8. Surrender; Peace at Last At first there were only two documents. The German one was completed on May 7, 1945, in France.  The Japanese surrender document was signed and then accepted on September 2, 1945.   When those documents were signed, it meant the countries could produce copies of them in different languages or versions. There are now six official documents of surrender.
