  2. “Indigenous Women Powering On” Indigenous women highlighting the motivation, drive and passion that can bring about change and break stereotypes. Biloela’s first women’s conference was held over two days: Thursday 29th November & Friday 30th November 2012. “We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of this land the Gangulu People on whose land we walk, work & live.”

Biloela Indigenous Girls Choir The girls choir from Biloela State High and Biloela State Primary Schools opened & closed the conference with a song they performed “Jina Nadu Janiba” (This is our Land) written and produced by Naurita Briscoe. Part of the song was translated into Gangulu Language.

  5. Day 1 – Guest Speakers Leaders in the Community Our guest speakers spoke about their lives, their country, their connections with land, community, their struggles and achievements to get to where they are today. There were many laughs, tears and questions shared in these discussions.
