Those who have started to do these things early can often talk about it enough to make others feel left out. However, if you do stand your ground and wait until you know you are ready, you will be glad of it. It means you'll have waited for the right person and the right time. • DON’T GIVE INTO PEER PRESSURE

CYCLE OF POVERTY • Children born to teen mothers encounter many obstacles which include: • Drop out of high school • Have fewer skills and be less prepared to learn when they enter kindergarden • Have behavioral problems and chronic medical conditions • Rely more heavily on publicly funded health care • Give birth as a teenager • Be unemployed as a young adult • Nearly 25% of adolescent mothers have a second child within 24 months of their first child • Teenagers with disabilities are at a higher risk for early pregnancy

They have created a list of protective factors that can help avoid/reduce the teen pregnancy epidemic • President Obama has also started the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Initiative which has partnered their efforts with the CDC and the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health to reduce teen pregnancy
