ELECTION DAY OPERATIONS (EDO) PROGRAM 2010
Why do we need an EDO Program? Is there election fraud in Michigan? • Election workers telling voters to vote for particular candidates • Election workers not closing the polls at 8 PM • Altering and not properly sealing ballots at 8 PM • Improper counting of Absentee Ballots • Allowing workers of activist organizations to help inside the polling place (Acorn, MoveOn.org) Even with the most thorough training, 90% of fraud will be stopped just by the presence of GOP Credentialed Challengers
Poll Challengers 2 Challengers In Each District All Day
EDO Plan • “Buddy” System: Assign 2 poll challengers to each target precinct . • Roving Legal Team: Recruit and assign roving legal team of people who know election law (ie: lawyers, previous clerks, and previous poll workers). This team will be responsible for a group of precincts in a particular region. They will respond to issues where the challengers need assistance. • Central Legal Team: Group of Attorneys that will be prepared to act on issues with which the Roving Legal Team needs further assistance.
TRAINING • All volunteers will be knowledgeable of what is expected of them on Election Day. We will have videos available online and training sessions at our Fix Michigan Centers around the state. • On Election Day, volunteers will be equipped with a checklist of potential fraud to watch for.
