  2. The Wonders of a Bacterial Metabolisms

  3. A Vague Dichotomous Key for Bacterial Metabolisms

  4. AUTOTROPHS • An autotroph is a bacteria that fixes carbon. • There are more specific classifications of autotrophs that will be listed further into the presentation.

  5. Heterotrophs • Heterotrophs are the other classification of bacterial metabolisms and they do not fix carbon.

  6. This power point will list the top five Bacterial metabolisms from least interesting to most interesting (In my opinion, feel free to disagree)

  7. Organotroph An organism that obtains electrons or Hydrogen from an organic substrate is a Organotroph.

  8. Lithotroph Lithotroph is like an Organothroph only instead of an organic substrate it uses an inorganic substrate.

  9. Mixotroph These organisms can use a mix of different sources to get their energy.

  10. Chemotroph Chemotrophs get their energy from the oxidization of certain compounds that lend their atoms to other elements.

  11. Phototrophic Phototrophic Bacteria get their energy from Light
