  2. Artwork I am Critiquing Laffy Taffy, by Brittany M.,colored pencil, 2013

  3. Description • What can you learn from the title of the artwork? That it is a colorful candy 2. What subjects in the artwork can you recognize? I recognize the letters “ffy”. • Looking at the elements of design, describe what qualities you see: -line The letters It is colored with a great outline -shape There is no shape other than the letters -color It is similar to a rainbow color -value There is value if the artist just didn’t rush -form The form of the work is -texture the texture of it is smooth -space It has many space but not enough for the letters the small ones. 4. What media and techniques did the artist use? I say the artist did color and write technique.

  4. Analysis • Emphasis: I Think the outline in my opinion stands out the most • Balance: The piece of work I am examining is not necessarily balanced , or symmetrical. • Proportion: I say the piece of art work is normal but a little abstract. • Pattern: The pattern is only repeated by colors • Rhythm or Movement: The colors and the letters attract me • Unity and variety: The letters and the color bring it together that what's make it unique to me.

  5. Interpretation • Is there symbolism in the artwork? What do you think it means? I think it is just a realistic drawing of a wrapper , doesn’t have any symbolism. • What feeling do you think the artist wanted to give the viewer when looking at the work? A colorful drawing. • Does the work remind you of other things you have experienced? Well, the assignment I also did on it. It also reminds of jolly ranchers. • How does the work relate to other ideas or events in the world and/or in your other classes? I say it could relate to the trash in the world, and she could've thought about making it better by adding more color.

  6. Judgment • What parts of the work make you feel it is a success or failure? The failure part was the small letters. It is a failure because the smaller letters should be even. • What criteria (think of the style of the work) can you list to help others judge this work? This is a colored sketch. It is pop art. • How unique is the work? Why do you feel this work is or isn’t unique? I say the uniqueness of it is great, but the small letters throws it off in my opinion. The uniqueness is great because it has many colors, and the outline of it is really good. • What are some improvements you feel the artist could have made to the work? Straighten the words out and not let it drift off to the side.
