  8. ENP+ • European Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS In Europe unites only PLWHA • regional network affiliated with theGlobal Network of People living with HIV/AIDS (GNP+)

  9. for and by people with HIV/AIDS worldwide • The overall aim of GNP+ is to work to improve the quality of life of people living with HIV/AIDS. • The overall program of the network is to create, organize and support a base for the global network by: • Lobbying for inclusion and for interests of PLWHA • linking via conferences (global and regional), communication • sharing via capacity building, regional and country level focal points

  10. ENP+ • The youngest of the regional networks affiliated with the Global Network of People living with HIV/AIDS • ENP+ has committed itself to enabling the voices of people with HIV to be heard equally and alongside those NGOs that speak for us, but not always with us. • We aim to support the voices of HIV infected people speaking out themselves about their living experiences of actual life with HIV. • We also aim to encourage a focus on other concerns than the usually heard medical issues, which can reduce us to just being patients, and not people. • Of particular concern are the human rights and civil liberties issues faced by our fellow HIV positive people in the former Soviet republics and other Warsaw Pact nations. We wish to look beyond the mere reporting of freedoms, or lack of them, at the institutional or legislative and public policy level, but to create an opportunity to see what the practicalities of life with HIV are like on a day by day level. • The European Region is divided into five sub regions.

  11. IFRC and ERNA • International Federation Red Cross / Red Crescent National Societies • and European Red Cross / Red Crescent Network on HIV/AIDS • regional network of RC/RC National Societies of focusing on AIDS issues

  12. Debates about what focus a RCRC response should take, were resolved by the realisation that the responses are interdependent – that prevention, care and advocacy must all be addressed if the response is to work.  The consensus on the ‘triangle-model’ is very strong in the new millennium. This consensus underpins both the global anti-stigma campaign, and current discussions about how RCRC best responds to treatment needs within RC, and in vulnerable communities.

  13. part of Open Society Institute’s Network Public Health Programs • In Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union

  14. only largest and EU NGOs • Do not exist now - under reshape for pan-European networking • Bad example on networking regarding sustainability

  15. For our discussion … Networking should support continuation of our activism started here • What are needs for information exchange and networking for successful AIDS advocacy in region? • Do and how existing networks met our needs? • How can we use them and what else do we need? • How will we ensure visibility of networking and access for others? • How will we ensure proper and sustainable work of network?

  16. Для дальнейшей дискуссии • Сетевая деятельность должна поддерживать продолжение нашего активизма созданного здесь • Какие потребности в сфере обмена информации и сетевой деятельности для успешного адвокации в регионе
