SwiftFare Collection • Off Board fare collection: • 2 TVM’s at each station • TVM’s will accept coin, bills, and credit card transactions • For Smart Card – 2 SAFTP’s at each station • Customers will pay at the station, then board by any door • Swift Ambassadors in the corridor will randomly check fares

  19. STATION LOCATIONS • Located near high demand areas • Most are far-side locations • Nearside • Only to address safety concerns at far-side location • No Mid-block stations • Close proximity to cross-walks • Adjacent to ‘local’ bus stops (which will be far-side of Swift stations)

  21. SWIFT SERVICE • Swift will run 7 days per week • 5 a.m. until midnight • 10 minute headways • 5 a.m. until 7 p.m. M-F • 20 minute headways • Evenings and weekends • RAPID, RELIABLE, CONVENIENT!

  23. SWIFT • Project Cost: • 16.7 mile project estimated at approx. $32 million • Over 50% of the cost is for new vehicles • Project is fully funded by grants, partnerships, and Community Transit local revenue streams

  24. Swift • Status & Timeline: • Vehicle procurement underway. Production begins 2/09. Vehicle delivery by June 2009. • Fare collection – TVM’s approved. Final order by 12/08. Delivery by May 2009. • ITS Technology suite in development with INIT. • Stations: • ROW acquisition underway for 24 sites • Trueform began manufacturing in 10/08 • ITB for construction awarded 11/6/08 – construction begins in 12/08 • Testing, Training and Public Outreach summer 2009. • Start up of service in Fall 2009.
