  2. Shi Huangdi • 221BC, Shi huang di was named Huangdi (king). • He was a great warrior. • Shi huangdi conquered all nine dynasties. In 221BC, Shi Huangdi was the first person to name himself Huangdi (king). He declared himself the first emperor of China. He was a great warrior and fought very bravely. He conquered all of the other nine dynasties.

  3. The Great Wall of China • Shi Huangdi forced prisoners, peasants and soldiers to build the great wall of China. • It was finished after 7 years of building. • Dead bodies were thrown into the great wall. • It was to a full length of 6,700km.

  4. Scholars and books • Shi Huangdihas buried scholars alive in a pit. • He burned all books which included bad opinions about him.

  5. Laws • Shi Huangdi had a adviser called Li Si • Punishments were very harsh • Shi Huang Di believed in a idea called Legalism • He forced people to obey the law and the emperor • The punishments for disobeying the laws were extremely harsh

  6. Common Standards • The nine dynasties Shi Huang Di conquered spoke and wrote in many different ways • He made the people from different states speak and write the language he spoke and used most

  7. Money • He changed the feudal system • He makes the peasants pay taxes directly to himself • To prevent nobles from rebellion, he had to take away the noblemen's power.

  8. After the death of Shi Huangdi • His son became the emperor • He was very weak and greedy • His empire has been defeated by the Han dynasty • The Han dynasty rose to power
