He doesn’t see anything ,and is getting pretty annoyed when he sees two mice. Mr.Ocax likes to eat mice the most because they are scared of him more then any other animal he hunts. One of the mice is a deer mouse named Poppy, who is cautious, and the other is a golden mouse named Ragweed, who seems to not be as cautious as Poppy. Mr.Ocax, the owl, caught Ragweed but luckly, missed Poppy who, at the end of the chapter lies unconscious under a length of rotten bark.

  3. Chapter 2Poppy Remembers Poppy woke up in confusion. Poppy’s dad’s name is Lungwort and her mum is Sweet Cicely. Then she remembered what her mum and dad had told her, a long time ago. They had told her that Mr.Ocax is their protector but, if they didn’t follow his directions Mr.Ocax would eat them. Poppy is scared and alone and most of all she wants to be home.

  4. Chapter 3Poppy Alone During the beginning of this chapter, Poppy is trying to get home, but Mr.Ocax is trying to catch her. When she escapes Mr.Ocax accidently helps her. Poppy knows that Mr.Ocax will recognize her and not be happy.
