  1. Good Health Physical Health For humans, physical health translates to good body health. It is important that a body gets regular exercise, good nutrition and adequate rest.

  2. Good NutritionNutrition Facts1) Added sugar is bad due to sucrose and high fructose corn syrup contains the empty calories. 2) Omega-3 Fats are essential to the proper function of the human body. Good sources are fish, grass-fed meat, and pastured eggs

Good Nutrition Nutrition Facts • 3) Transfats are unhealthy because they raise the bad cholesterol and lower good cholesterol which does cause abdominal obesity. • 4) Eat Vegetables which are rich in vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidants. • 5) Vitamin D is critical to ones diet. We do produce this hormone through the skin when we are outdoors in the sunlight. • 6) Stay away from refined carbohydrates. Eating refined carbohydrates can cause rapid spikes in blood sugar.

  4. Make a Plan to CookOne way to avoid the harmful substances in our food is by cooking the food ourselves. Children would benefit greatly when we control what goes into our food. Have children be part of the cooking process from cutting vegetables to the main course.

  5. Sports Physiological AspectsAccording to author Reece, Shakera (2010) writing in an article in the UN Chronicle stresses that sports can boost the health of children, build their self esteem, and develop conflict resolution skills.

  6. ObesityThe obesity of young children is rising as revealed by the World Health Organization (2010). Obesity and being overweight increase the risk of chronic illnesses, including cardiovascular disease, hypertension and stroke, certain forms of cancer, and type 2 diabetes.

  7. Athletics Make A DifferenceAthletes who care about performance tend to pay greater attention to what they are eating. Therefore, by extension, the involvement in sports can lead to better eating habits and a healthier lifestyle.
