Accountability Questions • An accountability task force is working to develop recommendations for revisions to the state accountability model. • No flexibility on federal requirements regarding state assessments is expected during the transition to PARCC assessments in 2014-2015 school term. MCT2 • Designed to meet the federal testing requirements for the NCLB Act of 2001 • Serves as the basis for accountability in the grades tested • Migration from SchoolHouse to PearsonAccess in 2013-2014 AY • New ordering and reporting system 4. SATP2 • Myth vs. Facts • U. S. History has not been removed as part of testing or a graduation requirement. • The Accountability Task Force discussed eliminating this assessment from counting as a graduation requirement, replacing it with the ACT, or not allowing the results to count toward accountability • U. S. History two-year grace period is set to expire this year. The passing score will change from 641 to 645 effective 2013-2014 subject to review by the SBE. • U. S. SATP2 For each assessment, students have multiple opportunities to achieve a passing score depending on when the student takes the course. Retest opportunities for all courses are scheduled in September, December, March (seniors only), and May. MWAP3 • Renamed after the Grades 4, 7, and 10 Writing Assessments (MWAP) were eliminated at the end of the 2011-2012 school year • Removed as a graduation requirement for students enrolling in English II for the first time in the 2012-2013 school year • Remains a graduation requirement for students enrolled in English II prior to the 2012-2013 school year • Administered by the Office of Student Assessment • Follows the same format and scoring process as the November 2012 administration MDE - Statewide Assessment
