  3. Destiny’s Child Introduction • Hypothesis- Songs on the top ten are not played more than others. • Explanation of our Idea- We listened to I-94 and Z100 for 5 hours each on weekends. • How we got our Idea- We tried to think of a scientific way to listen to the radio. • What we hoped to achieve- An idea about how often popular songs are played. • General Summary continued explanation- We have made bar graphs. 3

  4. Background Information • To collect information, we listened to the radio. • Kasey listened to Z100, and recorded songs that were played. • Brandi listed to I-94, and recorded songs that were played. • Brandi went online and found the top ten list from I-94, and the pop chart off of rronline.com Sugar Ray 4

  5. Experiment Craig David PINK • Materials list- radio, pen & paper. • Step-by- step procedure. Listen to radio, write down songs. • Control-not listening to the radio. • Constants-same number of hours & same days. • Number of Trials- 5 hours for each station. 5

  6. Graph 1I-94 6

  7. Graph 2Z 100 7

  8. Data Analysis • Compare Data- Songs on the top ten are played more often. • Songs that have been around for a couple months, and were already on the top ten, are played just as much. • We were half right with our hypothesis. • What we would do differently- we would listen to the radio for 5 hours at a time many times. Nikelback Shakira 8

  9. Conclusion • The top ten songs for both stations are similar. • Our hypothesis was not as correct as we thought. • The correct part was that songs on the top ten are not played more often.than songs that are around the top ten. • The wrong part was that songs that are on the top ten are requested more often. LeAnn Rhimes Usher 9
