  2. Portrayals of natural environments KEY CONCEPTS View of natural environments and outdoor experiences have changed over time. Images are often used to portray a particular perspective. The term ‘view’ means attitude. The way people regard nature changes depending it’s possible purpose and their previous experience with that environment, the reason for them being there, and their mood. One day a person may be on a beach surfing surfing and in the same week return to participate in ‘clean up Australia day’ or even to teach a surfing class’. People who live in urban areas often hold a view

  3. A term ‘image’ refers to a mental picture or conception of nature that people many have. An example of this is of people who live in urban areas often hold a view of country life as being relaxed, stress free; however the reality is more likely to involve fires, droughts, floods, ferals, salinity etc. Quite often a certain image of environments are used in order to create a response. What sort images would the following groups use to their bennefit, and why?: Tourism Australian Greenpeace Parks Vicotoria Mount Buller ski company. Mountain bike retail shop Victorian High Country Cattleman's Association.

  4. Work task 7 ADVERTISING Using the library books, magazines and the internet, research and record the following concepts. Describe the image? What opinions or attitudes may this image help to portray. Whow might a person or organisation benefit from this. ARTWORKS In addition collect examples of the following media that depict the Australian environment in a particular light. Song, book, poetry and painting
