3. Beginnings of Udacity • In 2011, his course, Intro to Artificial Intelligence was offered to and served as a strong case of concept for the idea that would eventually become Udacity • Thrun started Udacity in February 2012

It utilizes YouTube videos that present the concepts using an illustrative approach, using a Wacom digital pen system. • Udacity extends from Khan Academy in teaching by providing students with exercises, often short answer or multiple choice, which help to bond important concepts. Udacity also has a coding environment that allows students to write and execute code online.
