  1. Last summer, I traveled to California and had an enjoyable adventure on the Balboa Peninsula

  2. My family and I decided to rent an electric boat for a two-hour ride.

  3. My mommy helped me to put on the life vest that little children are supposed to wear while on the boat.

  4. My daddy got some good instructions from the young fellow on how to operate the boat properly.

  5. We wore matching life vests to keep safe.

  6. My daddy was the captain of our boat. We also put a music CD into the CD player and listened to the Beatles’ best songs.

  7. Balboa is a favorite vacation place for a lot of people. They travel for thousands of miles and pay thousands of dollars to stay in one of these homes for a week.

  8. Naturally, quite a few people live here throughout the year to enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

  9. The weather was so beautiful. The air was warm and the gentle breezes on the water kept us quite comfortable.

  10. The water was a playground for a lot of people. We saw a lot of inflatable boats, kayaks, sailboats and fancy yachts.

  11. We talked a lot about the different houses on the shoreline. Can you imagine who lives In that beautiful white home on the hill?

  12. When Daddy got hungry and wanted to eat lunch, Mommy and I took over driving the boat. We are both very good drivers!

  13. So many brown pelicans flew around us. I’m sure they were hungry for lunch, too.

  14. We also saw many different boats with my name written on the back. Kai…that’s me!

  15. Grandma joined us for our fun day. She loves to wear big, funny sunglasses.

  16. Of the many boats we saw on our boat trip, this one seemed to be the oldest and most unusual. It’s a really funny-looking tugboat!

  17. Which one is the seal? The brown, the yellow or the red shapes? It’s his afternoon nap.

  18. So many of the boats were decorated with the United States of America flag.

  19. We enjoyed our boat trip, but after two hours, we needed to return to the dock so that another family could go on a ride, too.

  20. A famous landmark, the Balboa Pavilion, was built in 1906 and has been the center of many community and social eventsover all these years. On the second level is a restaurant, where anyone can enjoy a good meal.

  21. We chose not to ride on the merry-go-round.

  22. Six months ago, my daddy celebrated his 40th birthday with family and friends on a similar boat that rode around the harbor for four hours. Everyone enjoyed food, music, dancing and being together.

  23. Going on a ferry boat is so much more fun than driving on the freeways!

  24. Mommy and I rode on the ferris wheel and saw the water from really high up!

  25. I played with a lot of different games.

  26. My daddy and I were really excited. We both played hard and fast here!

  27. Where did the puck go? All gone!

  28. For the local population, today was just another normal day in paradise!
