TheWorldCup • Every 4 years FIFA is organising an international football tournament called the World Cup. • Since 1966 they choose a mascot to represent the country that is hosting the competition. • A mascot is a person, animal, or object thought to bring luck and used for merchandising* during the event.

  3. Brazil • This year in Brazil their mascot is called Fuleco the armadillo* (it comes from futebol(football)and ecologia). He’s very friendly and loves to dance! • On the 12th of June the first match wasBrazilvsCroatia The final score was 3-1, Brazil won the game! I think that their mascot Fuleco was very happy.

  4. Japan • I am super surprised to say that aPokemonis the mascot of Japan! Pikachu is its name.
