  2. About SRUTI Established in 1983 Vision SRUTI’s main thrust is towards securing dignified existence for all human beings through ensuring sustainable livelihoods, quality education, adequate health care and good governance through its Fellowship Program .

SRUTI Fellowships • A Programme to support committed young individuals known as SRUTI Fellows, with a mission to work with the underprivileged. • Today 200 individuals (28 Fellows groups) are reaching out to over 5 lakh families in 5000 villages & 120 urban cluster across 12 states of India • More than 120 Fellows supported in 26 years

  7. SRUTI Fellowship ProgramLivelihood Initiatives ‘Sangharsh’ with ‘Nirman’ has been the philosophy of SRUTI. • Self-help Groups (SHGs) • Cooperatives • Access to natural livelihood resources • Vocational training courses

  8. SRUTI Fellowship ProgramCooperatives Fishermen co-operative societies formed in Orissa & Jharkhand generating revenue for displaced families

SRUTI Fellowship ProgramWeaving & Handloom • Co-operative viz.– Adarsh Hathkargha Vastra Utpadak Sahkari Samiti – in Jhiri (Rajasthan). • The co-operative is running with the efforts of the children from Manthan school, their parents and community women. More than 30 families are attached with the co-operative. • Fabric woven by the co-operative is marketed in Delhi.

SRUTI Fellowship Program Environment Conservation • SRUTI fellows ensured forest conservation on more than 20000 acres of forest lands. • Formation of Van Panchayats • Educating forest dwellers against illegal activities of forest mafia. • Efforts by school schoolchildren to increase forest cover.
