  2. The Journey Plainsboro New Jersey Bangalore They moved from Bangalore, India to New Jersey, USA

  3. In 2006, my uncle Sameer Lal with his wife, Prathima and their son Akshat, lived in Bangalore where he worked. They were about to make the biggest move of their lives. They were going to move all the way to New Jersey, USAThey voluntarily made this move for my Uncle’s career and also to get exposure to a new culture and way of life.

  4. There were many risks because they were moving to an unknown country where they didn’t know anybody. Life would be uncertain and they were not sure how things would pan out. They might not like what the new country had to offer. Plus they would be away from their extended family.

  5. There were lots of challenges. Since they were starting from scratch again they had to buy everything from a spoon to car. They found the people there very caring and open minded and they got a lot of cooperation from the local Indian community. They also had to get things like new driving licenses and credit cards. It took them a little while longer to get all the things they needed. The first experience of winter for them was difficult but once they got used to it they just loved it.

  6. They had difficulty in getting a family visa and they had to stay apart for quite a long time. But, after a year they got together and now they have been living in America for almost 7 years now. It took them around 6 – 7 months until they could consider themselves fully settled.

  7. Now after so many years of making the move , they are very happy actually glad they made the move. They are very comfortable there and can advise other people considering making this move!

  8. Thank you !!!
