  2. Sign On Procedure • Website Use: www.apexvs.com • You will be provided with a Username & Password • Enter Username: No Spaces • Enter Password: No Spaces • Hit ‘Login’ Key

  4. 1st Time Users • Orientation page may appear. • Review course orientation. • Close orientation page and go to main page. • Main page titled: My School.

  11. Announcements • Check for messages • Make note of due dates

  12. Current Enrollments: Enter Your Class • By clicking on class name • Course Outline on left side of screen • Computer Outline and Paper Outline should match • Area highlighted in black on computer outline is main idea currently displayed on screen

  13. How to Succeed • Go Step by Step • Start at the Beginning • Systematically work your way down • Take Notes Where Indicated by “Study” • Time Management: Work Every Day Bell to Bell

  14. Classroom Rules • No internet surfing • Work on Apex course only • Take notes for every course • No electronic devices, of any kind, allowed in lab. (Ipod, cell phones,MP3’s, etc) • No food or drink in lab • Work every day

  15. Scoring • Course mastery must be demonstrated • All final grades must be 70% or higher to pass course • If retake needed, notify teacher to reset quiz • Diagnostics & tests can be taken only once • All scores will be averaged; go slow and focus

  16. Quizzes • Teacher Must Open Quiz or Test Before You Attempt It • Review Notes before Taking Quiz • May Attempt 3 Times before Unit must be reviewed with instructor

  17. How to Take a Quiz • Take good notes • Review material before quiz • Have helpful materials ready: scrap paper, calculator, etc • Put away notes • Quiz to be taken without referring back to course material • Ask teacher to unlock quiz • Good luck!

  18. How to Take a Test • Review Notes • Review unit material • Have helpful materials ready: scrap paper, calculator, etc • Put away all notes and course materials • Ask teacher to open test • Go slow and follow directions carefully

  19. What If: • If you don’t finish a quiz or test- don’t worry. It will be saved at the current location. • If you receive a low score on quiz or test, notify teacher so it can be reset. • If you fail a quiz 3 times, must meet with teacher before you move on.

  20. Pace • Your course has a built in calendar. • You are expected to maintain a good pace while working. • If you get behind, don’t panic. • See me!

  21. Success Is Yours • You can be successful • Ask if you have any questions • Do not move on unless you understand the concept. • Review • Follow directions carefully
